The 2023 American Democracy Summit featured the presentation of the first-ever LA2050 Awards. Our LA2050 initiative worked with ADS organizers to create these honors.
Goldhirsh Foundation President Tara Roth took the stage along with emcee Ed Helms during “ADS Live!” on Thursday evening, September 28, near Downtown Los Angeles.
Roth handed LA2050 Awards to the leaders of three organizations who are past winners of the LA2050 Grants Challenge, for their ongoing contributions to a more democratic, and just, society. A short video played about each, and then they delivered remarks to the assembled crowd.
Congratulations, Sabra Williams, to you and everyone at Creative Acts, for leveraging the arts and empowering youth experiencing incarceration to be agents of civic change.
Receiving the award on behalf of Laura W. Brill was Molly Ford. Congratulations to everyone at The Civics Center, for motivating young people across the country to invest in our democracy.
Congratulations, David Levitus, to you and everyone at LA Forward Institute, for providing critical education to voters on the issues directly facing their communities.
